CSC certification, the equivalent of the Responsible Management System in Italy, attests that a company has met certain criteria in terms of sustainability and environmental protection.
Just a few months after the Unical Berlia (TO) plant received CSC certification, the Santena plant also achieved the same attestation after completing the procedure, which involved certifying the cement produced by the Robilante plant and the Ceretto aggregates quarry, all located in the same region and belonging to the Buzzi Unicem group.
As Marco Borroni, Unical’s Operations and New Plants Director, explains, “This achievement is a remarkable milestone that confirms the synergy between Unical and Buzzi Unicem. Unical supports the carefully thought-out Federbeton certification, which includes all aspects of sustainability and highlights the qualification process for concrete, one of our most important materials. We believe that the CSC certification will become an increasingly important standard of measure for sustainability within the concrete industry in Italy and throughout the world.”
A Buzzi Unicem company, Unical S.p.A. is the first concrete manufacturer in Italy to receive CSC certification.
Unical manages over 100 plants in Italy, and for over 50 years it has been recognized as a leading company for its product technology and innovations and its social and environmental commitment.
Unical is a member of ATECAP, the Italian concrete manufacturers association, and Federbeton, the umbrella organization for concrete manufacturers in Italy.
