The Llano Bonito plant of Hormigón Express, a company based in Panama, and the plants Carretera a El Salvador, Salcajá, Sur, Norte and Escuintla of Mixto Listo, a company based in Guatemala, have passed the responsible sourcing scheme certification audits carried out by Applus+ to obtain the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) certification at the bronze level.

Hormigón Express is the second company in Latin America to obtain certification and Mixto Listo is the first company to obtain it in Guatemala, joining the group of more than 310 facilities certified worldwide by CSC.

“For the Iberoamerican Federation of Ready Mixed Concrete FIHP, the entity that operates the scheme in Latin America, it is a great honor to announce that  six new Latin American concrete plants are now part of the group that is world-class and have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability through their certification to the CSC's responsible sourcing criteria. This achievement was made possible through the determined cooperation of One Planet Network” said Manuel Lascarro, Executive Director of FIHP.

The One Planet network is the network formed to implemented goal 12 of the United Nations Sustainable Development agenda on responsible production and consumption. In the case of the pilot program of the CSC in Latin America, One Planet Network supported different phases of project implementation, from raising awareness to technical support to the first companies participating in the pilot.

Hormigón Express (Panamá) is a company with 20 years of history and Mixto Listo (Guatemala) a company with 60 years of activities. Over the course of the year, new plants are expected to be enabled in Latin America with CSC certification.
