First aggregate plants certified in Germany

Two Holcim Germany aggregates plants have been certified by the Concrete Sustainability Council in Germany. These are the first CSC aggregate certificates in Germany.

The Holcim Deutschland aggregate operations in Kaarst and Malsch both achieved an excellent CSC Silver certificate (currently the highest achievable rating for CSC aggregate certifications). With 85.1% and 83.4%, the plants scored the best results ever awarded for CSC aggregate certificates worldwide.

The certificates have been issued by Kiwa Germany. The Bundesverband Transportbeton (BTB) is the German system operator for the Concrete Sustainability Council. BTB Managing Director Olaf Aßbrock: “We are proud to see the first CSC aggregates certificates outside of the Netherlands. The outstanding results demonstrate our sector’s commitment to responsible sourcing practices along the entire supply chain."

The certificates will be handed over in a ceremony at the BTB stand during the Ulmer Betontage, 19 February 2019.
