CSC welcomes Gold certification for thirty concrete plants of Mebin

Dutch concrete producer Mebin, part of the HeidelbergCement Group, remains committed to making its concrete plants more sustainable. Thirty Mebin plants were re-certified according to the CSC certification system at the level of Gold.  The CSC accreditated certification body Kiwa presented the certificates to Mebin on Wednesday 20 May.

"Mebin was amongst the first concrete manufacturers to receive CSC certification at the level of Gold. In 2017 we started with seven companies undergoing certification in the Netherlands and now we are at more than hundred companies." as stated by Remco Kerkhoven of concrete knowledge center Betonhuis. "Despite the tighter requirements of CSC certification according to version 2.0, Mebin managed to achieve a good score for all its plants. This was also enabled thanks to various suppliers of sand & gravel, who underwent CSC certification" says Ronel Dielissen, General Manager at Mebin. "CSC certification is gaining relevance for our clients and contractors who are increasingly making CSC certification a requirement."

Pleun Kleinveld, certification expert at Kiwa confirms that "The measures taken by Mebin in relation to their CSC re-certification will contribute to further develop the company’s sustainability."
