CBR, the first Belgian cement producer to be CSC-certified

All CBR production plants have just obtained the CSC (Concrete Sustainability Council) certification awarded to companies for their efforts in the field of sustainability.

Following the audits organized by the certification body SGS-Intron, CBR Antoing, Lixhe and Ghent achieved CSC-certification at the level Silver. CBR thus becomes the first Belgian cement producer to obtain this recognition.

"The certificate, awarded by an independent international institute, confirms CBR's commitment to sustainable development and is fully in line with our sustainable targets for 2030", explains Rob Huydts, Environmental Sustainability Manager at CBR. "This globally recognized quality label promotes the sustainable production of concrete and assures our customers of the responsible sourcing of our materials. In this way, our companies prove that they meet strict requirements in terms of reliability, expertise, durability and safety at work".

ENCI, CBR's sister company located in the Netherlands, had already obtained a first certification in 2017. Following the audit carried out by KIWA, certification has now been extended until 2023 with ENCI IJmuiden achieving a CSC-certificate at the level Gold.
